The WEF Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

The Winchester Education Foundation salutes members of the Latinos Unidos organization at John Handley High School.

The annual Hispanic Heritage Month Assembly, organized by the students, featured incredible costumes, dancing, and music — as well as inspiring videos and speakers that highlighted the beauty, spirit, and culture of our Hispanic community.

Our Winchester Public Schools are graced by the presence of our Hispanic student population.

WEF Secretary Mady Jimenez-Torres announced the two winners of this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month student awards:

  • Rebeca Velasco Cruz
  • Santos Robles Trejo

You can view Mady’s presentation and the incredible flag ceremony that opened the assembly on our new YouTube channel:

The WEF is proud to provide the annual Hispanic Heritage Month awards. These awards are just one of the many ways our Foundation supports the teachers, students, and staff of Winchester Public Schools.
