The Winchester Education Foundation salutes the Latino Unidos club at John Handley High School for organizing and conducting an incredible Hispanic Heritage Month assembly. Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated at John Handley High School and throughout Winchester Public Schools each year.
The month-long celebration for 2024 culminated with the Hispanic Heritage Month Assembly at John Handley High School. The event began with a colorful parade of flags and included incredible student performances in song, dance, and poetry.
The Winchester Education proudly participated in the Hispanic Heritage Month assembly by awarding two $500 awards to deserving John Handley High School seniors of Hispanic heritage to defray educational expenses. Our Executive Director Larry Weiss delivered a few words of welcome in Spanish and presented the 2024 Winchester Education Foundation Hispanic Heritage Month Awards to Lucy Ruiz Maya and Luis Mendoza Fernandez.
