On October 10, 2017, the Frederick D. and Karen G. Schaufeld Family Foundation generously donated $1,000,000 to the Winchester Education Foundation to name the Winchester Public Schools Career and Technical Education (CTE) Innovation Center on Jefferson Street in honor of Karen’s parents, Emil and Grace Shihadeh. The Winchester Education Foundation is engaged with Winchester Public School System to enhance the CTE curriculum. Students will receive education in three academies in the Shihadeh Innovation Center – Professional Skills (Trades), Health Sciences, and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math (STEAM). This education will enable Winchester Public School students to graduate high school with practical skills in the trades, health care, and other career fields.
